Employment Opportunities

Employment Opportunities at City Center Market

Are you looking for a great job with an award-winning staff team? Consider City Center Market -- we'd love the opportunity to talk with you! Is the Co-op right for you? Are you right for the Co-op? Ask yourself these questions:

1. Are you outgoing?
If you are shy or feel awkward when talking to strangers, this may not be the job for you. Our staff needs to smile and greet customers when they enter the store and make them feel welcome. You need to be able to have conversations with people from all walks of life.

2. Do you want to learn new things?
Customers expect us to be knowledgeable or to be able to find the answers to their questions about the Co-op, local foods, organic and natural products, supplements, etc. We will assist you in this learning process, but the motivation must come from you. Are you ready and willing to learn?

3. Are you able to multi-task?
There is always work to be done, even if the store is quiet. You may be busy stocking or cleaning, but when a customer walks in the door can you quickly "switch gears" to fast, friendly service with a smile?

4. Do you pay attention to detail?
At City Center Market, customer service is more than a phrase, it's an action. We pride ourselves on "going the extra mile" for our customers. It's the thoughtful gestures that make each customer feel special. Here are just a few examples: Always smiling as you greet them, finding answers to their questions, making sure their purchases are rung up correctly, keeping the store fully stocked and clean, carrying their groceries to the car, remembering names. Attention to detail will ensure that every customer has a good experience when they come to the Co-op!

5. Can you commit to our schedule?
City Center Market is open Monday-Saturday, 8:00am-8:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm. To be able to provide excellent service for our customers and also be responsible to our member/owners, we need to keep the store fully staffed at all times. We try to be flexible, if needed, but we do rely on our employees to keep their commitments, once scheduled.

6. Teamwork builds success!
It's great to work around other enthusiastic, motivated co-workers. Are you a positive, outgoing, self-motivated person that can not only work as a team member, but work independently too?
